Chef Miguel Maestre is coming to the Grampians.THE Grampians Grape Escapehas announced its headline chef for 2016, thetalented and energetic chef and television personalityMiguel Maestre.
The Grampians Grape Escape celebrates its 25th year in 2016.
“I’m excited to be this year’s headline chef, we’re going to have so much fun in the Grampians,” Miguel said.
“The people, the produce and of course the great wine; the region has something for everyone and we want to see everyone come along and experience it for themselves.
“This is one of Australia’s best regional food and wine events and the perfect excuse to visit this spectacular part of the world.”
Born in Murcia in the south of Spain, Miguel’s love for food began at a young age.
He has developed a talent for incorporating Spanish ingredients and cooking styles into his Australian menus.
At 27, Miguel was head chef of Number One,the godfather of Australian cuisine Tony Bilson’s Bistro, working alongside Australia’s leading French chef Manu Feildel.
Miguel thenopened the biggest Spanish restaurant in Australia El Toro Locoion the waterfront at Manly.
As aco-hoston Channel 10’sLogie-winning show The Living Room, Miguel has workedalongside Amanda Keller, Dr Chris Brown and Barry DuBois.
Miguel is the author of two best-selling Spanish books Miguel’s Tapasand Spanish Cooking.
He is the owner of Maestre Family Food and runs his own business Miguel’s Experience.
