Auctioneer Gordon Connors was discussing a successful sale with Kelvin Sundermann. Kelvin said this was a good result with more rams averaging only $70 less than 2011. Considering sheep are making half the money of the previous year.IT WAS deja vu at the Pinora Poll Dorset flock ram sale, when the two top price rams sold for $1150, equalling last year’s sales result, as well as being purchased by last year’s top price buyer, Robert Anton, Toongabbie.
The Sundermann family, Pinora, Heyfield, offered 66 rams of very good quality, and although competition did not equal that of the previous year, several repeat buyers purchased several rams each to complete the sale of 58 rams, averaged $759.
Aiding a good result at Pinora was Hopfields Pty Ltd who purchased five rams to $1100, av $970. Another repeat buyer was C&R Hayes who purchased six rams to $900, av $792.
Buyers came from East Gippsland and through to Ballarat with local district breeders making several purchases.
JH&LA Cameron purchased six rams through Sharp Fulgrabbe, Bairnsdale, buying five at $700, and one at $650.
FOB Livestock, Sale, conducted the auction.
