AT just 21 years old, Tom Nobbs, of Yoman T Stud, Moura, was one of the younger vendors at this year’s RBWS.
If his result is any indication, the Brahman breed is in great hands for the future.
Tom offered the growthy Red Brahman bull 692 Yoman T 111/0, which sold for $50,000 to Nick Dudarko, Kangarin, Brahmans, Biloela, topping the red draft.
And Tom, who registered his Brahman stud at 10 years of age, is no stranger to the success of the breed.
With his parents Stewart and Stephanie Nobbs, of Yoman Brahman Stud, he has also been very competitive and commercially oriented, competing in carcase and prime cattle championships.
“However, I wasn’t expecting to top the red section of the sale draft,” Tom said. “It really was a huge surprise. This bull showed a lot of potential as a calf, and I selected him for RBWS, instead of selling at our family bull sale at Moura.”
